Eden had been right about the track. By the ninth lap of my second stint, the bitumen was bone dry and the teams that had gambled on the rain staying were scrambling to the pits to change back onto slicks. I used the time to push even further ahead. Edenís voice squawked over the radio, telling me that I had just achieved the fastest lap time of the day. If I didnít have to keep both hands on the wheel, I would have given a fist pump in celebration. Things were finally going my way.
I was celebrating the small victories when I came across the top of the mountain again, across Skyline. The glare from the sun reflected in the top corner of my windscreen and I was blinded. Not by the light, but by the vision which the sun called to mind.
My heart stopped and my eyes slammed closed.
Smiles and laughs; the sun glinting off her watch as we kept an eye on the time.
I could almost hear her voice bouncing around the car, laughing over some ridiculous shit weíd done during the day. Weíd been so happy. So innocent. So fucking naive and stupid.
The memory was from one of the days weíd ditched school to hide out in our park. With a gasp, I swallowed oxygen down into protesting lungs. My hands shook and tremors raced through my fingers and into the wheel.
My stomach clenched as I remembered just how beautiful sheíd been. She didnít have supermodel looks, she had something better. An honest to goodness girl-next-door quality that shone through from within and made her ten times sexier than any over glossed supermodel could ever be. The truth was, as bad as the visions of Alyssaís red-rimmed eyes were, the happy ones were worse. They became tangible reminders of how much sheíd once meant to me, and I almost didnít want to suppress them.
With two more gulping breaths, I forced my eyes open and pushed the thought away. My grip tightened on the steering wheel, but it was already too late.
Though itíd been mere seconds, Iíd been in my own worldómy pastófor too long and hadnít prepared to take the turn before falling into the Esses. I had no time to do anything but adjust the angle of my car as it smashed into the concrete barrier with a teeth-rattling bang. I prepared myself in the only way I could for a second crash as the car ricocheted off the wall, spun across the track, and then smashed into the side of a passing car. The sound of crunching metal and squealing rubber filled the space around me, but I could do nothing but hold on and hope for the best. My car lurched sickeningly toward the wall again, shunting hard into the concrete and rocking me into the hard surface of the door.
By the time I came to a rest, I was angled nose into the wall in a stationary car.
Unable to move, I panted as I struggled to comprehend just what had happened, aside from the fact that Iíd crashedóthat part I got loud and fucking clear. Closing my eyes, I mentally ran through my body to ensure I wasnít too badly injured. I wiggled my fingers and my toes and was relieved when everything did what it was supposed to. Except for my heart racing at a million miles a minute, and the fact that I couldnít breathe down nearly enough air to stay in control, I was okay.

My eyes snapped to the rear-view mirror when I heard the sound of protesting tyres.

Michelle Irwin has been many things in her life: a hobbit taking a precious item to a fiery mountain; a young child stepping through the back of a wardrobe into another land; the last human stranded not-quite-alone in space three million years in the future; a young girl willing to fight for the love of a vampire; and a time-travelling madman in a box. She achieved all of these feats and many more through her voracious reading habit. Eventually, so much reading had to have an effect and the cast of characters inside her mind took over and spilled out onto the page.

Michelle lives in sunny Queensland in the land down under with her surprisingly patient husband and ever-intriguing daughter, carving out precious moments of writing and reading time around her accounts-based day job. A lover of love and overcoming the odds, she primarily writes paranormal and fantasy romance.

Tribulation and Truths (Chastity Falls #3) by L.A. Cotton

When Ana revealed her suspicions to Jackson about the circumstances surrounding his father’s death, she never expected it to be the catalyst for a series of events that could change everything. It was supposed to save him, not push him away. But now Ana is left watching the person she loves more than anything, lose himself to vengeance.

Jackson has spent most of his life loyal to the man he calls Uncle. But since learning that Marcus Donohue might have been responsible for the death of his father, Jackson is consumed with the need for revenge. Even if it means hurting the people he loves, and going against everything he believes in, to uncover what happened.

Will the truth finally set Jackson free or will it ruin his last chance at happiness with Ana… and a life out from under the shadows of the Donohues?

Tribulations will be overcome, truths will be revealed. Welcome to Chastity Falls.

My Review:

I've desperately waited for the conclusion of Jackson and Ana's story even while I didn't want to have it. Seriously, theit story can never ever end. I don't want to live my life without Jackson. Ever. #Jacksonette4Life

Anyway, let's get back to my review. I knew my heart was not going to have an easy time with this and I was right. I have no freaking idea why Ms. Cotton thoughts she needed to hurt us as much as she did, when the boy we love so clearly needed help and there was no fucking way for us to reach out and help. Honestly. Not the slightest chance...

I have to admit that at some point I wish Ana would've been the tough girl we got to know her as in book two, because there were moments where Jackson could've needed a good fight just to see where he was going wrong ... and where Ana was hurting like never before.

We got to meet an amazing new hero though in Dennis. Such a loyal and amazing character... Man, I hope we'll get to see much, much, much more of him. He deserves a million stories and a happy end. I think he probably went through as much pain as Ana and Jackson did throughout that book.

As conclusion to the couple we got to know and love, I have to say that I was expecting more... Like seriously, Ms. Cotton, I DON'T see the problem in an on going series... or a book with about 1100 pages. I mean, come on, it's Jackson...

Everyone, read that damn series. Honestly. None of you can miss out. It would suck for you because you'd forever miss something in your life. *goes home to pull over her Chastity Falls Hoodie*

Rating: Five Jacksons. BBF's, I mean.

Forever Young And Beautiful (Mount Roxby #2) by Aimie Jennison

Beautiful eighteen year old Ruby Wilson always wished she'd inherited the werewolf gene like her brothers. They were her father's favourite, leaving her to feel hated, or even worse, like she never even existed.

Once her father took her brothers to live with him in his pack when they reached the age of sixteen, Ruby was left all alone with her heartbroken mother, who turned to drugs and drink, to get through the day.

Realising she needs to get away and accepting her fate she finally starts to settle down and starts to enjoy living as a human among her brother's pack.

Life runs smoothly for a while - until the unthinkable happens.

And life for Ruby will never be the same again.

My Review:

The first thing that comes to mind when I think about this book is crying. My heart broke during one stage of this book, but I'm getting ahead of myself.
Ms. Jennison's writing is incredible and so captivating, I couldn't put this book down. The writing style is lively and emotional, so much that most of the time I felt as if I was literally standing in a room with the characters. I wanted to hold Ruby's hand most of the time, hug Theo a few times and DAMN, I wanted Jared. While I missed the characaters after book one ended, I know that I'll be even more impatient to see them after book two.

Ruby struggles with who she is, who her brother wishes her to be, what the pack expects her to be and even more with the guy she's in love with. She never gives up, and that's what I admire about her. Ruby is a heroine that Aimie Jennison created well. You can identify with her and throughout the whole book, you know you wish you could be her.

OMG, her brother came back. No, not Theo, the OTHER brother. The bad boy. The lost wolf. BOY, he's incredible and I so cannot wait to read more about him. Okay, I totally love him already.

And of course, I absolutely loved the glance we got into the vampires' lair. Let's face it, we all love the bad guy.

Thank you, Aimie Jennison, and now hurry the fuck up to write the next book!

Transcending Darkness by Airicka Phoenix

One: Sign the contract.
Juliette Romero had a debt to pay, a debt that wasn’t even hers. But it was the only way to keep her family safe and all she had to do was sell her body and soul to the devil.
Killian McClary wasn’t called the Scarlet Wolf for nothing. He’d been the head of the McClary Organization since he was fifteen and had built a reputation for being a ruthless son of a bitch when it came to running the city’s underbelly, not to mention merciless when it came to punishing those who betray him. He didn’t believe in weaknesses. Only results. Juliette, with her shy smiles and hot little body was a weakness unlike any other and yet he was powerless to resist one more taste of her sweet flesh.
Two: Become his for a year.
When given the choice between her life or her body, what could Juliette possibly do, but submit to a man whose very name invoked fear in the hearts others? She just never anticipated falling for his dark, hungry eyes and clever hands, or the way the beast in him made her feel oddly safe and cherished.
But what will happen when Killian’s dark past finally catches up to him and threatens the woman he can no longer imagine himself without? What will happen when both sides find themselves caught in a web of passion, lies and broken promises? Can Juliette tame the wolf or will her love for him devour them both?
Three: Don’t fall in love.
Boundaries will be crossed, loyalties will be tested and lives will be changed forever.
My review:
There were moments during this book where I actually messaged Airicka Phoenix to tell her that she's mean and brutal and just about the darkest soul out there. I mean, how in the world can you torture your readers so much? Hurt them? Tear out their hearts? I personally think she's sitting with her hands folded, smiling to herself each and every time someone mentions how much they hurt because of her writing.

And I hurt a lot during this book, because Ms. Phoenix manages to grab me with her characters each and every time she writes a book. It doesn't matter what genre she tries to write, she succeeds with ease, it seems.
Juliette is a loveable character that you can't help but root for. The troubled relationship with her sister, the need to fight for herself, not take anything for granted, that's what makes her an amazing female lead. She's headstrong, beautiful and perfectly imperfect.

Killain got me from the moment he entered the picture. You know how that say that in a book you don't fall in love with a character's appearance, but their heart and soul? That's exactly what happened to me and Killian. A troubled soul, a heavy heart ... what more could there be about a man? Mystery, a little danger and a hell of a lot sex appeal, that's what.

I held my breath throughout most of the book, praying that Ms. Phoenix would make it all right. You wanna know if she did? Guess what, you'll have to buy the book to find out. This lady here gives the book

Liam Page knows music and a life of solitude, but that all changed when he returned to Beaumont.
The once notorious bad boy lead singer of 4225 West is now living the domesticated life with his wife and high school sweetheart, Josie, and their son, Noah.
Life is good for the Westbury family, until Liam is called back to Los Angeles and the place where it all started for him.
Liam and Josie’s story continues in this last installment of The Beaumont Series.

MKoF teaser
The way the mirror on my dressing table is angled gives me the perfect opportunity to watch Liam undress. This is my favorite ritual, morning and night. I’ll take the chance anytime I can to watch him methodically peel off his clothes. He’s a man who unties his shoes first, placing them back on the shoe rack. His socks are next, followed by his shirt. My peeping tom ways are often rewarded when he’s wearing a dress shirt. Not only do I get to watch the muscles in his back flex as he pushes each button through the ridiculously small hole, but his undressing is prolonged. He takes his t-shirt off the same way every time and when he pulls the collar from behind and the shirt slowly lifts inch by inch, my mouth waters. My lips become dry and my knuckles ache from my hand clutching my hairbrush. The clank of his belt buckle and the almost too silent pop of the fabric from his button down jeans have me staring intently into the mirror. My make-up is only half off, my mouth wide open and I’m the picture of someone who needs serious help. And let’s not get started on the way he gets dressed... His jeans drop to the ground and he kicks them aside, depriving me of the chance to watch him bend over to pick them up. I find myself leaning into my vanity to get a better look as his thumbs dip into the waistband of his boxer briefs. Men find women's lingerie sexy and appealing. It turns them on. The look and feel teases them and they love it. I never thought about men in their underwear until I saw Liam in his. Over the years he’s maintained his muscles, yet has a more defined physique. His boxers aren’t sagging in places they shouldn’t. My husband could be an underwear model with his form fitting briefs, although I don’t know if I’d want the world to see what he only shares with me. The cotton fabric pools at his feet. He steps out of them and turns around, showing me his naked body... a body only for my eyes, my hands, my lips and any other part of me. “How long are you going to stare at me?” I swallow hard as my eyes flash to his and a wicked grin plays across my lips. “Until my eyes no longer work,” I tell him. “Or until you tell me to stop.” “Hmm that’ll be never,” he says as he walks near me.
