Teagan Harper is barely ten years old when she finds herself orphaned and sent away to live at Raven’s Peak, a Gothic estate on the seaside cliffs of Maine. Soon, though, her heartache and loneliness are tempered by a blossoming friendship with the only other child living at Raven’s Peak: Kane Doyle, only two years older than Teagan and abandoned by his mother. Over the years, the pair grows inseparable. First they’re pranksters and confidants, but eventually their feelings change, and best friends turn into soul mates. On the cusp of Teagan’s departure for a university in Boston, they share a glimpse into their happily-ever-after and make promises of forever.

Devastated and heartbroken, Teagan cuts ties with her beloved adoptive home and tries to move on with her life. But years later, when the shocking truth behind Kane’s betrayal comes to light, Teagan must decide whether to embrace her new life and let go of her past once and for all, or fight for her dream life with the only man she’s ever wanted.

Travis by Tracie Podger

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC copy of this book by the author.

"Travis Curran spent his childhood surrounded by physical abuse, until he could take no more…

His father has a drinking problem - he liked to take that problem out on his family.
His brother has a drinking problem - he liked to take that problem out on Travis.

At the age of eleven, Travis was forced to run, forced to leave his sister, the only mother he ever knew and flee to Washington, DC, with a man he doesn’t know. It should have been simple; his sister was to follow a week later - But she never arrived.

Alone and homeless, Travis survived.
He survived with the help of a boy who became his best friend, his brother in all but blood.
He survived with the help of the family.

Today he lives a life of secrets, a life of wealth but also of crime.
He enjoys this life - until the moment his past catches up with him.

This is the story of an exceptional man, a dangerous man. His life in his words.
This is the story of Travis Curran."

I've falling in love with the Fallen Angels series and this is my first look at the earlier years of both Travis and Robert (since I haven't read Robert yet).

It was such a pleasure to have this insight look of what their life, or Travis' life, was like when they were younger. I think I enjoyed reading this even more than their current years which we also saw in Fallen Angels. Seeing the heartache and hartship he needed to overcome made me feel for him and made my heart go weak yet again for this amazing character.

During the whole ordeal of his early life, you cannot help but admire the person that Travis is and is becoming. We see a boy who doesn't let anything get him down, who manages to overcome the odds of a broken home and find something, or someone, worth living for. Meeting Robert was the best thing that ever happened to him, and even though they might not be blood related, he is the closest thing to a real family he has ever had. Their relationship is remarkable, how they look out for each other, support each other and yet respect their privacy. Neither one of them wants to devulge the misgivings of their past, and it's that respect that makes their relationship so amazing.

Seeing Travis grow up is remarkable, and having him go through what he did, it's incredible. I would've loved to see more of it, of how he deals with his newest relationship, but I'm sure Tracie has something up her sleeve in that case.

What it comes down to is that this story gives a great look into the person Travis is growing up and how he came to be the amazing person we have all fallen in love with during the Fallen Angels series. It's a great deep look into his past and an amazing addition to this series.

However, I do recommend reading the Fallen Angels series before, because it made the book much more pleasurable to me! But it's not absolutely necessary, because this book can very well stand on its own.

Thank you for letting me read this story!! It was truly a pleasure!!

Always yours,

We had only driven a short distance when the blue flashing lights of a cop car lit up the inside of ours...

“What do you want to do, bro?” I asked. If we’d been aware of their presence in time I probably could have outrun them.

“Pull over, let’s see what they want?”

I pulled the car to the kerb and waited. A cop tapped on my side window.

“Permit,” he said.

I handed it through the open window and he took a while studying it.

“Exist the car, slowly, both of you,” we were instructed.

Two police officers, who had obviously been waiting, gestured for us to get out of the car. As I did one of them grabbed me by the arm and slammed me face first on the hood. He pulled my arms behind my back and cuffed me. Robert and I looked over at each other; he gave a very slight nod of his head. Being picked up by the cops had always been his worst nightmare, but that nod told me he was okay. I wasn’t too worried, the police could do nothing to me, I was too old to be sent back to New York.

In silence they placed me into the back of a car, with Robert in another, and we were driven back to the station. The only thing I told them was my name and address as they booked me. Still cuffed, they marched me along a grey corridor. The walls, the floor, the metal doors to cells were all the same depressing colour. Apparently cheerfulness was not the look they were going for.

They released my wrists as they closed the cell door behind me. I rubbed at them, a little pissed at the unnecessary tightness of the cuffs. I could walk from one end of the cell to the other in four paces. Robert was going to freak - not that he was claustrophobic, but he hated confinement. I flipped the stained mattress against the wall, sat on the metal frame of the cot and waited. Eventually I was taken by a cop, again in silence, to an interview room. I sat and smiled at the sour-faced female guarding the door. He cheeks coloured a little.

A few minutes later she was replaced by one of the cops that had pulled us over, and his sidekick.

“Travis, my name is Detective Mallory…”

I cut him off. “Can you tell me why I’m being held here?”

“Joey Morietti has implicated you in a rather nasty assault,” he replied.

I raised my eyebrows. “Really? And when did this assault take place?”

“Earlier this evening, the police were called to Sibley Memorial after he was admitted. It appears he has suffered some serious injuries. Know anything about that?”

“Not a thing, been at the club all night, want the address?”

After I had given him the address and he’d written it down, he handed it to the sidekick who left the room; the door was guarded once more by sourpuss. She kept her gaze firmly fixed to the wall above my head.

“Your friend, Robert, gives a different location for your whereabouts this evening,” he tried.

“Then he may have had one too many,” I replied.

“What can you tell me about Joey?”

“Not much, don’t really know him.”

“We know you work for his father,” came the response.

“Doesn’t mean I know who assaulted his son, if he has been assaulted, of course.”

“So what do you do for Guiseppi Morietti?” he asked.

“Collect rent, as I’m sure you already know. Now, shall we get back to the shocking news of his son? What happened to him?”

Detective Mallory stared at me, I gave him a smile. He reminded me of Goon, in fact, such was the resemblance they could have been related.

“Do you have a brother?” I asked.

5-Star Reader Reviews....

This book was brilliant and intense. I felt Travis’ anger, fear, resentment and love to his “family” ie, Robert, Evelyn and Joe. He is a multifaceted character. He has all the usual emotions you would expect from one who has had a rough start in life but he is also fiercely loyal and protective to those he loves. He is also HOT and sexy and is incredibly charismatic. Yes, that is why I love him! This lovely by the incredibly talented Tracie Podger gets five stars from me. (But in my heart it deserves 100!) ~ Kerry-Ann (Kez's Corner)
This book is simply spectacular. It tells the story of Travis, one of the pivotal characters in The Fallen Angel Series. I defy anyone to not fall in love with Travis from his turbulent childhood, through his journey of self discovery and sexual awareness! It's a compelling, gripping story that grabs a hold of you immediately. This author has the unique talent of completely immersing you in her world with her descriptive and enthralling words. Travis will live in my heart always... ~ Karen S.

Heavyweight fighter Denver Lewis plays real nice, but he doesn’t share. That’s why he’s been avoiding top-notch flirt Cherry Peyton. But a man can only resist those lush curves for so long. Their encounter surpasses
all his fantasies, bringing out protective urges that Cherry’s about to need
more than she knows…

Denver’s combination of pure muscle and unexpected tenderness has been driving Cherry wild. Yet no sooner does she get what she’s
been craving than old troubles show up on her doorstep. And this time, Cherry can’t hide behind a carefree fa├žade. Because the man by her side is one who’ll fight like hell to keep her safe…if only she’ll trust him enough to let him…

Holding Strong will have you holding your breath while burning fingers quickly turn the pages.”
“…a fun and sexy read. It has a touch of suspense to it as well to keep the pace of the story going along.”
“The men of Foster’s Ultimate series may be powerful fighters, but they are all heart, and none more so than the hero of this
installment. His unwavering support for his feisty, frightened heroine redeems them both in time, but it is their searing chemistry that will hold readers’ attention.”
“Foster…manages to keep characters evolving throughout the
course of a novel, becoming true ‘heroes’ by the time ‘The End’ rolls around.”

Since first publishing in January 1996, Lori Foster has
become a USA Today, Publisher’s Weekly and New York Times bestselling author. Lori has published through a variety of houses, including Kensington, St. Martin’s, Harlequin, Silhouette, Samhain, and Berkley/Jove. She is currently published with HQN.

Lori Foster's MMA series "Ultimate" Love this!!! No Limits and Holding Strong

"Cannon Colter is quintessential hero material: chiseled jawline, shredded body—the works. He's also the guy who rescued Yvette Sweeny from kidnappers, only to put an end to her romantic dreams. These days, she's older, smarter, determined to face whatever life throws her way. Even the prospect of sharing a house and business with Cannon.

Cannon knew Yvette wanted him three years ago. But she was young—and some things are worth waiting for. Thrown together by her grandfather's legacy, he realizes how deep Yvette's scars really go, and how much danger lurks in their quiet town. As pent-up desire explodes between them, protecting her becomes the only fight that matters. And he'll break all the rules to do it…"

I've actually read this book after finishing my ARC of Holding Strong, but I have to say that I devoured this book. The thing about Lori Foster's writing is that she creates such a close emotional connection between the reader and the main characters that you fall in love with them in no less than five pages.

This was a great start novel for the Ultimate series. I love MMA novels in general, and Lori Foster manages to combine a romance with a side of thriller and fighting. I LOVED it.

Both, Cannon and Yvette are highly likeable characters who have been together through a lot. They formed a bond years ago through a destintive event that shaped both of them, and when they are thrown together again years later, the tension that was there years ago hasn't lessened one bit. Sparks are flying everywhere, and it's amazing to watch those two still try to fight it while at the same time wanting nothing else than to give in the pent up desire. Both are fighters, loyal to a fault and will fight for what they want, even if they don't know yet what that is. They are amazing characters that you can only look up to.

But despite their tries to reconnect, their open desire for each other is not the only thing they have to deal with. Omnious attacks threaten to take away whatever happiness they might have found in each other. And that's one thing I truly love about Foster's books! The mystery angle. There's always a crime section in her novels that I absolutely adore and that in combination with the sexual tension (believe me, there is a lot) and the views of MMA friendships we get here makes this book a seriously hot combination. One I couldn't put down and finished in merely a day.

5 book-boyfriends for this one!!

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC copy of "Holding Strong"

"An up-and-coming MMA fighter wants more than just one night from a woman fleeing her past in New York Times bestselling author Lori Foster's irresistible new novel

I actually changed my rating for this book after reading book one. Why? Because in the end I realized the one thing that made me give it four stars was written towards in book one, so after reading book one, I changed the rating again.
Denver and Cherry are amazing together. When reading the book I wondered where the story was gonna go because both find their way to each other rather quickly, but the story develops into so much more than their relationship.
Denver has always liked Cherry from afar, and vice versa, so when they both take the plunge into being together, things couldn't be better. Or so you would think. But this wouldn't be a Lori Foster book if that was the case. Their relationship has ups and downs, as is usual for a relationship, and while you have heart-breaking moments, you also have the swoon-worthy, where-can-i-get-a-guy-like-that-moments as well that will make you fall in love as well!
I loved the story line Foster brought in with Cherry. It was different and had such a great suspense angle that really kept me glued to the book. You really will wanna know how it ends.
Another thing I truly loved about this second book is the closer look we got at the friendships between the different MMA guys. You've already seen that in book one, but I think in book two it just takes it to another level. They are loyal to a fault and would do anything for each other, and that's such a heart-warming thing to see, and one of the main reason I loved this book. Plus, it makes you HIGHLY excited for the next books in the series! They are being released tomorrow, right??
I have always loved Lori Foster's books, and this one was no different. I feel privileged to have been able to read an ARC copy of this, so thank you again!!! This is an amazing story and you all should go and read it NOW!!!

***EXCERPT TOUR*** Alyssa Rose Iva's "The Hazard of Sleeping with a Friend"

Warning: Sleeping with a friend might change your life forever.
Sleeping with Kyle was never in the plans. Pretending to be his girlfriend was one thing, but letting our relationship become anything but platonic was another. The problem with mixing friendship with sex is that inevitably feelings get involved, and when that happens there's no turning back.

When Kyle's life fell apart around him, I needed to help, but doing that meant opening myself up to the most terrifying thing in the world—falling in love.

The Hazards of Sleeping with a Friend
Alyssa Rose Ivy
Excerpt #3
I didn’t rush to turn the light off. I wasn’t sure if either of us were ready to go back to darkness again. If she was feeling even remotely like me, then sleep was the last thing on her mind.
If a kiss could make me feel that way, the sex was going to be incredible. That thought ran through my head on repeat as I tried to keep my eyes anywhere but on her. Eventually my willpower gave out, and I turned to look at her lying under the sheets next to me with a soft smile on her lips. I wanted to taste those lips again so bad I could barely take it.
She read my mind. “You officially have permission to kiss me anytime.”
“That’s great permission to have.” I rolled over on to my side next to her. I wasn’t giving up any opening she was willing to give.
“Do I have it too?”
“On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.” I ran my hand down her bare arm.
“But today is Sunday.”
“I guess I can make an exception.” I grinned, loving how she’d moved us back to the teasing that came so naturally.
“Can you?” She sat up and looked down at me.
Something snapped. I needed her, and it wasn’t going to wait. I pulled her on top of me.
She giggled. “Wow, and I didn’t even say please.”
“I guess you didn’t.” I rolled her off me, and instead hovered above her.
She looked up at me through her unbelievably long eyelashes. “Would you please make an exception?”
“You have full permission to kiss me.”
She reached up and pulled my head down to hers. Her lips crashed into mine aggressively, and that only made me want her more. I didn’t wait for her to open up this time, I pushed my way into her mouth, determined to get every taste of her I could.
She slipped her hand underneath my t-shirt, and I needed more of her touch. I broke the kiss long enough to pull off my t-shirt.
“If we’re playing fair tonight, you can take mine off too.” Her words sent a thrill through me, but also an alarm. Taking off her shirt was entering new territory. Much more dangerous territory.
“You sure you want me to?” I ran my fingers over the strip of skin exposed by her tank top riding up.
“Yes. Positive.” She sat up and pulled off the tank top herself.
