"Summer with a Star" - Merry Farmer - who wouldn't like that??

I was lucky enough to be given an ARC of this book, and I was super happy about it. 

Synopsis: "All Tasha Pike has wanted for the past twenty years is to rent Sand Dollar Point for a summer. The grand Victorian on the beach of Summerbury, Maine was the object of her childhood fantasy and her standard of romance—and it was finally happening. 

Her dream summer is ruined, however, when she arrives in Summerbury to find that Hollywood superstar Spencer Ellis has muscled his way into the house instead. His offer that they share Sand Dollar Point is not only infuriating—it’s insulting.

He’s a celebrity—and one she’s determined to hate.

It's a great summer read, that makes you feel all warm and happy inside. I truly enjoyed this book.

Who doesn't dream of spending a whole summer with a super star, the one you always see on TV or on the big screen? I mean, come one! And that's exactly what happens to Tasha. Only, she doesn't really think it's such a great thing to have to share her dream house, the house she has been saving up to for 20 years, with someone else. No matter how hot an amazing that guy is.

And from then on, it's a beautiful thing to watch those two navigate each other, get to know each other and for Spencer to break through all of Tasha's defences. It's not your typical star falls in love with normal girl story, because as far as Spencer is concerned, he would much rather be anything else than in the spotlight. 

Throughout the whole book, you cannot help but fall in love with the characters. Tasha is a strong and independent woman, who has worked hard her whole life and knows to appreciate the small things in life. She doesn't let anything stand in her way and doesn't lose sight of what's important. And Spencer isn't the prick you would expect a Hollywood star to be. He's down to earth, charming, a gentleman and actually cares about people. I mean, him actually offering to let Tasha stay in the house with him after knowing she has saved her whole life for that? That made me love him instantly.

Merry Farmer's way of writing is easy to get lost into, and that's an amazing thing. it flows effortlessly and draws you in, and makes you have all the feels for the characters. From the carefree days of being at the beach or taking a stroll, to the heartache of reality that eventually hits. 

I truly enjoyed this book and I'm honestly also REALLY looking forward to the next book in the series, cause I'm super excited about the other two!
