Oh boy... I was reading this book and I have to say that a lot of the time when I read this book my heart was beating in my chest and just wanted to crack out of my rips because it was aching. There was a sweet sadness all through the first part of the pages. I mean, it was good. I'm a sucker for pain in books. Honestly, I need to hurt. And Morgana Phoenix makes it possible that you feel this sweet ache all the time.

Beth and Cole already were tugging on my heart-strings when we got to read about them in Forever His Baby (Did I mention you need to read that book, too? ) and I really like that Morgana Phoenix took the time and brought us another story from this world.

I won't lie. I love Beth to pieces. She's an amazing character and has so much heart, it makes me think that she is one of my all-time favorite heroines. And it's really hard for a girl to win me over since I find a lot of them whiny. Or bitchy. and I don't like either.

Beth is headstrong and so much in love with Cole that it hurts me for her. Plus, the reason she has to see Cole again ... wow, that woman is an angel, seriously.

I am not one of those people who gives a step-by-step retell of the whole book, mainly because you need to read it and spoiling it would just suck, but I have to say that I love how this book is build, how the story just grips you right from the beginning and seriously, what I love most about Morgana's writing is that you can feel whatever she makes the characters feel; taste what they taste. Oh, when she talked about cheesy pizza and how Beth couldn't wait to have it in her mouth...

And it's not only the food. There is a scene where she describes how Beth stares at Cole, analyzes his body, all the hard muscle and his broad shoulders ... I swear, I was sitting right there next to beth, seeing exactly the same thing. She has such a vivid way of writing that you basically feel as if you are in the middle of writing.

I was part of the story, of their world, and then the book ended and I crashed right back on my couch. It was a rude awakening, because I was missing the love this family shares, or the security it offers. 

The world of the McCains won't ever let you go again.
