Marked - Eternal Guardians for life

THERON—Dark haired, duty bound and deceptively deadly. He’s the leader of the Argonauts, an elite group of guardians that defends the immortal realm from threats of the Underworld.
From the moment he walked into the club, Casey knew this guy was different. Men like that just didn’t exist in real life—silky shoulder-length hair, chest impossibly broad, and a predatory manner that just screamed dark and dangerous. He was looking for something. Her.

She was the one. She had the mark. Casey had to die so his kind could live, and it was Theron’s duty to bring her in. But even as a 200-year-old descendent of Hercules, he wasn’t strong enough to resist the pull in her fathomless eyes, to tear himself away from the heat of her body.

As war with the Underworld nears, someone will have to make the ultimate sacrifice.

Well, well, well... This book was a reading from my little goodreads-online-bookclub with the most amazing girls ( I <3 you!) and there a re a few things to say about it.

First... Hell, what a cover! And the next ones look just as smoking hot! Second... To the book. For me it started out a bit slow and I really worried that it would just go on like that, but actually it ended really good! I liked Theron and the way he was described, all rough and sexy and yet gentle and soft-hearted. I loved Casey and everything she is. I had a huge WTF!- moment when I thought Theron and Isadora both fell for the same girl... That would have been... Uhm.. Interesting.

"Only this guy was ten times bigger and a million times hotter than Richard Gere ever was."

No matter what he was, when it came to Casey I seriously got the sighs, wishing that someone as big and bad-ass would look out for me the way Theron looks out for Casey. It was believable and sweet, the whole story.

"Shit. Shit. Had Zander thought Theron had fallen for the half-breed? The Argonaut hadn't fallen. He'd dived in headfirst. Without - obviously - fucking thinking."

Additionally I really liked the world Elisabeth Naughton created in between humans and gods, half-breads and whole-hearted lovers. This series really started out good and yet I have to admit, I really want to read on, but only when the books get a little cheaper. Even though I have to admit... I kinda really want to know more about Zander... *sigh*

So a word on free kindle-books and book-clubs. They are chance, fun and free. You should really try both, because it actually means you'll get to see and try things you might have never tried before. And believe me, more often than not, you might find a jewel and meet your next favorite book! So don't hesitate and try... I'll get back to P.C. Cast's Goddess-series.

Yours truly, Julie
