Two short ones for today

"Warning! Do not look, smell, or touch. Hazardous for your libido."
The Vampire Affair Part I by Vivi Anna

"This man smelled so good, I wanted to lick him all over his neck and face like an ice-cream cone."
- The Vampire Affair Part I by Vivi Anna

Makayla Bradley, a small-time journalist, risks everything including her job to get the goods on billionaire playboy Jonathan Devane. A man who enthralled her from a single passionate kiss months prior. A man who makes her blood race and her thighs tingle. A man with dark secrets…

Well, well, well, we all can guess what the dark secret is, but as of the book, you won't find out yet, I have to admit that this book is a tease, because every page you turn and want to find out everything about Jonathan. And, boy, what a man!

I really enjoyed the first part of the series and I will get on to part II soon, I hope. It's fast reading and, like all good quickies, quite satisfying! *wink*

And the second book I read, but absolutely do NOT recommend:

Johanna Williams is a keyboardist for an up-and-coming band from London, The Lonely Lovers. When their bassist, Gemma, is kicked out, Johanna and the rest of the band must find a suitable replacement. They decide on Laslow Hadley, a young prodigy also hailing from London. But what catches Johanna’s eye isn’t Laslow – it’s his older brother, Marcus.
Although relationships with people affiliated with the band are strictly forbidden, Johanna can’t help but pursue her growing feelings for Marcus. Soon, her heart and her virginity are taken away by her new love interest.
While the band continues to grow exponentially in popularity, Marcus and Johanna continue their affair in the shadows of fame. However, when the spotlight grows too big for their secret, they must face the consequences of breaking the band’s most important rule.
When separated for a lengthy U.S. tour, will Johanna be able to cope with her new found loneliness? Will the surprise of her life end her life-long dream of becoming a successful musician? Will her relationship with Marcus ever be rekindled, or is their candle of love doomed to be extinguished forever?
In the game of loneliness, the odds are not in Johanna’s favor. It’s up to her and Marcus to beat it.

This book seriously was so bad it was almost funny again. If I'd have to describe it I'd say it was written just because someone for once wanted to write something hot. Well, I like steamy, I really do, but this book just didn't do it for me. Not even close. I didn't feel the scenes and, even worse, I didn't feel the characters. There are so many repetitions... I understand that people want to emphasize certain things, but that was not emphasizing, that was just repeating over and over again. And, honestly, if you write something about UK and US you should KNOW that actually the US is behind time-wise. In this book she always calculates that she's six hours ahead. Where exactly is the US again?

I just totally didn't like that book AT ALL. Sorry.

So much for the two short books I read today! Get the first, drop the second!

Yours truly, Julie
