#WantToKnowWednesday: Bully romance

Image
Hey guys! It's me! Today with a normal blogpost. I don't know if we ever did one of those, but yeah, here I am. xD  I know bully romance is huge. Like... It always has been, but what exactly is it that appeals to readers when it comes to that? I have to say I'm rather hesitatnt about the whole genre--or is it trope?--and therefore rather seldomly pick up books like that. I've tried too many, from popular to not so popular, and a lot have left me feeling weird, or disappointed. However, every now and then I stumble across a book like that purely based on the cover. (Yes, okay, I admit it, I'm a cover-buyer, and I have bought books for their sexy abs and nothing else... 😆)  Well, Becca Steele's Trick Me Twice was one of those, and OMG, ever since then I'm on love with that woman and her brilliant mind (okay, and her books, but come on, it's all one and the same. After all, her mind creates the stories) and it's bully I can do. Which kinda brings me

Bet The Farm - Staci Hart

Image
BLURB: Olivia Brent has one summer to save the dairy farm she just inherited. But there’s one problem, and it’s not her lactose intolerance. Jake Milovic. The brooding farmhand has inherited exactly fifty percent of Brent Farm, and he’s so convinced the city girl can’t work the land, he bets she can’t save it in a summer.   Determined to prove him wrong, Olivia accepts what might be the dumbest wager of her life. His strategy to win seems simple: follow her around, shirtlessly distracting her between bouts of relentless taunting. And it’s effective—if his dark eyes and rare smiles aren’t enough to sidetrack her, the sweaty, rolling topography of the manbeast’s body would do the trick. What they don’t know: they’ll have to weather more than each other.   Mysterious circumstances throw the farm into disarray, and with the dairy farm in danger, Olivia and Jake have to work together. But when they do, there’s more to fear than either of them imagined. Because now their hearts are on the li

The First Score by Amie Knight

Blurb: There was something about that first score, and not just on the football field. I loved all of life's firsts, which was why I’d been saving mine for one girl, my older sister’s best friend—Hazel Jones. She was tough and sarcastic with walls around her heart as tall as a football stadium, but I knew she was the one for me. Desperate times called for desperate measures and I’d have done anything to make her mine. Like create a fake online persona. Lie about my age. Pretend I wasn’t some naive virgin. And catfish the hell out of the love of my life.   My Review:  I mean... Ollie. That basically says it all. Amie Knight managed to make me fall for him within the first pages of the book—when he wore nothing but white briefs and was no older than five. I don't know how she managed, but everything she wrote, every page I turned, I couldn't stop.  Linebacker, heartbreaker, and charming as hell... Those are just Ollie's most ob

Unspoken Vow (Steele Brothers #2) by Eden Finley

Synopsis He’s everything I want but run away from. There’s a long list of things I don’t handle well: Change. Relationships. Breakups. But there’s one person above everything else I can’t seem to get a handle on. Brody Wallace. In short, he’s perfect. The reality, he scares me. When I need to find a new place to live, Brody offers me his spare room, but I have no plans on taking him up on the offer. He doesn’t know what happened to me five years ago, and I want to keep it that way. But with limited options, I find myself outside his apartment holding a full moving box and wondering: How can I do this without exposing the darkest part of my past? He’s the opposite of what I usually go for. He’s bigger. Intimidating. He reminds me of someone I’d rather forget. My review: This book… I know a lot people will speak about Anders and what he’s been through (OMG, can I hug that boy, please?!), but I want to talk about Brody. Many people forget that while the victim

The Kiss Thief by L.J. Shen

Image
From USA Today and Washington Post bestselling author L.J. Shen comes an enemies-to-lovers romance with a twist... They say your first kiss should be earned. Mine was stolen by a devil in a masquerade mask under the black Chicago sky. They say the vows you take on your wedding day are sacred. Mine were broken before we left church. They say your heart only beats for one man. Mine split and bled for two rivals who fought for it until the bitter end. I was promised to Angelo Bandini, the heir to one of the most powerful families in the Chicago Outfit. Then taken by Senator Wolfe Keaton, who held my father’s sins over his head to force me into marriage.  They say that all great love stories have a happy ending. I, Francesca Rossi, found myself erasing and rewriting mine until the very last chapter. One kiss. Two men. Three lives. Entwined together. And somewhere between these two men, I had to find my forever. My Review: I don’t usually do assholes.
